LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Jim Stamas was honored as 2017 Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Library Association (MLA). Stamas was presented the award by MLA Executive Director Gail Madziar and Alpena County Library Director Eric Magness-Eubank in Alpena.
“Our libraries are a mainstay of our communities, and it is an honor to be involved with them,” said Stamas, R-Midland. “I greatly appreciate this recognition by the Michigan Library Association, and I look forward to working with them to support our libraries.”
Ron Meneghel, treasurer of the Alpena County Library Board of Trustees, and Tammy Thompson, secretary of the Alpena County Library Board of Trustees, were also on hand to present the award to Stamas.
